I am the mother of two, and am on an adventure to live as natural & healthy as possible. I grew up pretty “green” without anyone trying too hard, as I grew up in Europe, and when I was a child there were really no unhealthy alternatives (except that yummy sausage). Maybe it was all the stairs I ran up and down several times a day? My mother and grandmother are both green witches in their own way, so all this comes very natural to me. The knowledge has always been there, but the revelation to consciously live “green” and help others do so came when my oldest was born 9 years ago. I had a serious food crisis, and parted sadly with my vanilla creamer and Nutella. My husband still misses the days when I ate Lucky Charms and he could eat what he wanted to without me, or my kids, telling him what chemicals are inside his food :) .

When I am not tree-hugging, or mama chauffering, I write. I love my MAC (I think my husband is jealous), and the internet. I recently began harnessing my passions into one tight space, and launched http://www.heikeonline.com. Here you will find easy & economical organic gardening product (yippee!) as well as my blog: Suburbanite Mama goes Green (http://www.greensubmama.blogspot.com), where I journal or backyard planting adventure, new & exciting things that I find, and more. I am also the owner of Goddess in the Groove, a website for women with opinions, and the maker of goddess pendants. As I grow, so will http://www.heikeonline.com

Don't forget to take a look at Jennifer's contribution at GNMParents. Pets are a man’s best friend! They can be “green” too :)… I have a 17 year old Husky/Shepard mix, and recently we adopted a new “little” Shepard puppy [...]
