Project 95 is brought to you by The Fabric Shop Network, Inc, the trade association for independent quilt and fabric retailers.  They have recently launched a beta version of a searchable map to help you find independents in your area.  I plugged in my zip code and was delighted to see this densely packed map fraught with new (at least new-to-me) shops to check out in my area.

Spoonflower organic cottonI sprang to my feet when I saw the message in my e-mail from Spoonflower this morning.  After much urging by eco icons including Betz White, Harmony Susalla and customers, they now offer digital textile printing on organic cotton!  The new 4.5 oz organic cotton sateen is certified organic by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).  It has a 58-inch printable area for only $27/yard.  The fabric is ideal for apparel and pillows.

Soak in Sola by Amy Butler is a biodegradable, phosphate-free, rinse-free fabric wash made in collaboration with Soak. Soak’s fiber-friendly cleanser is designed for the most delicate hand-washables, including quilts, knits, cross-stitch, and lingerie.  The no-rinse solution has even been used for pets and stuffed animals.  This limited edition version is scented with Amy’s signature fragrance called Sola.  They say Sola is a soft comforting fragrance like an evening walk through the garden.  The bottle is simple and beautiful.
