A Guide to Kind Living from PETA

Hot drama star Kelly Carlson is the newest face to grace the cover of PETA’s cruelty-free shopping guide encouraging folks to shop only for “products that have not been smeared in rabbits’ eyes, injected into mice, or force-fed to guinea pigs.”

Effective alternatives that don’t involve hurting animals are available everywhere, yet how is it that millions of animals are forced to undergo excruciatingly painful testing year after year to see if it is right for humans?

It ain’t right, it isn’t necessary and it’s time to expose and end these horrors.

BPA Free Yubo Lunchboxes

Being a lighthearted child in a grown-up body, I have to admit that I still like lunch pails, and my band new Yubo lunchbox happens to be my favorite one of all time because it’s:

BPA Free
Recyclable
Antimicrobial
Dishwasher Safe

Yubo bpa free lunchwear started with two concerned parents frustrated with the amount of plastic baggies used every day. Explaining:

“The typical store bought lunchboxes we owned were impossible to clean, they collected crumbs and foul old-food odors. Worst of all, our kids were over the novelty of their lunchboxes less than a week after buying them! That was the start of our journey to re-invent the lunchbox. We knew there had to be a better way. We set out to balance our passion for the environment with our kids’ passion for having fun.”

Intentional Chocolate is Infused with Love

“Whoever consumes this chocolate will manifest optimal health and functioning at physical, emotional and mental levels, and in particular will enjoy an increased sense of energy, vigor and well-being for the benefit of all beings.”

Above is the intention fused into Intentional Chocolate. We are all familiar with the power of positive intention, yet did you realize it could be infused into chocolate? The blessing of food with an intention has been practiced for thousands of years within spiritual traditions and sacred ceremonies which place a certain positive form of energy into the food that is then offered for consumption.

Dr. Dean Radin, PhD, Senior Scientist at The Institute of Noetic Sciences and author of Entangled Minds and The Conscious Universe shares:

“The mood-enhancing effects of the focused intentions embedded in Intentional Chocolate were successfully demonstrated in a statistically significant, double-blind, placebo-controlled experiment, and published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.”

In addition, Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro online meeting software is now offering a free trial and every time someone signs up they donate twenty-five dollars to help a school go green. In fact, Adobe has partnered with the U.S. Green Building Council and the mayors of Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco to help schools go green in their communities. Each city will receive up to $100,000 to create classrooms that foster learning alongside smart environmental practices.

Union of Concerned Scientists and the Scientific Integrity Editorial Cartoons

Have you seen the comic art for the 2010 Union of Concerned Scientists Scientific Integrity Cartoons? Shown above is a cartoon about science and the Endangered Species Act.

The entire calendar shows how “the absurdity of political interference in science is ripe for lampooning-and serves as a constant reminder of how vigilant we must be in defending science from politics.” The comics also highlight the need for the new administration and Congress to create a thriving federal scientific enterprise.

The Water Crisis and How “Water is Life” Saves Children in Africa

Yearly, 1.8 million people will die due to waterborne diseases.  Sadly, most of these deaths are children under the age of 5, at rate of 5000 children a day.  There is a way to reverse and end this tragedy. The Water Solution is available and saving lives in Africa.  Imagine a small, portable, straw-like device that hangs around the neck of a child and each straw can save a child’s life for one year.

WATER IS LIFE! a child exclaims as he sees his siblings live instead of die. Genius inventions like these are changing the world on a global scale — saving lives and bringing children and families back into healthier states.
