Coco Eco Magazine is about to officially launch and how do I know? Yours truly has been named Beauty Director! I’m beyond excited that finally there is a magazine for the savvy ecoista among us that has substance, style and and walks its talk. While there have been a steady release of ‘eco-magazines’ on the green scene of late (Positively Green, Boho, et al) this is the first time I’ve seen something that truly lives up to the moniker. Everything about this magazine has been considered with deep thought and well-conceived insight with regard to the environment, our health, and wellbeing, but what I especially love is that it also caters to my inner organic glamazon, responsible hedonist and eco-fashionista!

Donning the list of Toronto’s Fashion Heroes, named by NOW Magazine, is Natalie Stephenson whose Heart On Your Sleeve boutique in Toronto, Ontario is filled with labels that are only cruelty-free/vegan, sweatshop-free, recycled and/or organic. Passionate about supporting local designers, she carries only goods from Canadian labels. You’ll find great eco-brands like Grace & Cello, Passenger Pigeon, deux fm, Sparrow handbags and more. And if you live or work in Toronto, they have a bike delivery service that costs the same as shipping (if you’re within their bicycle delivery zone).
Normally Black Friday (11/28) is a huge day for retailers, but HOYS will be closed as they’re participating in an international event, Buy Nothing Day as “an opportunity to express their ongoing frusteration with rampant, excessive consumption“.

One year after debuting their clothing collection for the eco-fashionista, Toggery founders have just launched LuxGreenLiving.com and will promote an easy-to-adapt eco-friendly lifestyle to her contemporary consumers. “With the explosion of the green movement, it is now possible to not only dress in organic fabrics, we can also apply organic and natural products to our skin (our largest organ!), and furnish our homes with organic and sustainable textiles as well,” says D’Arcy. Beginning Fall 2009 lines from other organic designers and eco-friendly products will be offered as well.
“LuxGreenLiving.com stemmed from the increasing consumer demands we have experienced with each new Toggery collection; our goal was to find a way to provide consumers with the best selection and to make it as easy as possible for them to purchase online. It then occurred to us to take it one step further and create a site that could become known for offering the best quality and style in all things organic.
