eos lip balms, a Modern Take On an Old Fav

Everyone loves a great lip balm, and for good reason.  They not only protect and nourish our puckers, but are tote-able and fun to use.  And just when you didn’t think there was anything new that could be done with lip balm, along comes eos.  eos (as in, evolution of smooth) has created two new ways to keep your lips soft, smooth and tasting yummy with lip balm smooth spheres and lip balm smooth sticks.

Packed with vitamin E, shea butter and jojoba oil to keep delicate lips in top form.  Innovative soft-to-the-touch packaging makes them a pleasure to use and the cool sphere design is so utterly modern that you will leave them sitting around just for the pleasure of looking at them.

Bubble and Bee Organic Deodorant Keeps You Fresh and Dry

Bubble and Bee Pit PuttyIf you have not yet heard of Bubble and Bee let me put the bug in your ear.  This maker of organic personal care items is making waves in the world of safe organics.  Their fun products are nontoxic and made with the best ingredients they can get their hands on. The line touts lotion sticks, lip balms and shower gels, to mention a few.

But their stand out product, in my humble opinion, has to be Pit Putty.  This stuff really works and best of all, it’s aluminum-free.  Like your typical organic deodorant this one controls odor, but unlike others it even seems to help keep you dry.  It is made with organic arrowroot powder, which absorbs wetness and doesn’t cause skin irritation like baking soda can.  Pit Putty also contains organic extra virgin coconut oil for moisture and essential oils to keep you smelling nice.  Comes in two scents; Lemon and Clove (unisex) and Geranium Lime (more girly).

I’ll Take Mine A La Mode

Crazy Rumors A La Mode Lip Balms

Crazy Rumors vegan-friendly lip balms have come out with a new line to compliment their coffee and tea flavors.  A La Mode Lip Balms combine the most

delicious ice cream flavors with nature’s most moisturizing ingredients for a totally sweet experience.

Available in six luscious flavors, like Banana Split and Mint Chocolate, these fun little balms will keep lips moisturized and are good for you and the environment.  Made with organic Shea Butter and Jojoba Oil for maximum softness (without the ”greasies”) and vitamin enriched.  A hint of natural Stevia makes them super yummy!

PMS, Motion Sickness and Sleepytime Without Xanax: Who knew?

Ditch the prescription and pucker up!

This is going to be short, but it’s good and it matters. Balms with Benefits is the rockin-est thing to hit the shelves in ages. It’s a simple concept, you get a lip balm and add quality aromatherapy to it so that the loveliness on your lips cures what ails you.

I’m sure it’s been done before, but I doubt it’s been done like this. My kids and I got all eight flavors in the mail last week. They’re pretty. Don’t discount pretty, pretty matters. Alexander and Jane were immediately taken by the rainbow of colors, they removed each lid and sniffed.

And then the horrible happened. Alexander (age seven) said, “Mom, what’s PMS?”

*sigh*

So we had a little talk about why Mommy feels compelled to wash the windows every month while shrieking, “dont’ touch anything!”

Truth be told, I ditched the PMS tube, because without it I’d never clean up around here.

Natural Beauty: New Kiss My Face Kids Collection

Kiss My Face Kids Self-Foaming Hand WashKiss My Face was actually the first natural beauty company I ever tried.  It is a company I have known and trusted for twenty years, so I was excited to see they had introduced a kids collection. These products are free of artificial colors, fragrances, parabens, and SLS.  They are not tested on animals and contain natural ingredients such as tea tree oil, aloe, nettles, and burdock root. Each product features an endangered species, so children can learn about animals while they practice good hygiene habits.

My family has tested out seven of the nine new Kiss My Face Kids Collection.  The following product reviews combine my daughter’s and my own perspectives:

  • Kiss My Face Kids Shampoo & Bodywash:  This product is very sudsy, which kids enjoy, and the bottle makes it very easy for children to use themselves promoting their independence.  My son, who has very sensitive skin, is able to tolerate this product, and my daughter was the one who discovered you squeeze the bottle to get the soap out.

Fab Find :: On-The-Go Pampering Made To Order!

Have I mentioned I’m a lip balm addict??? Yes, I do confess.  I have more lip balms than I can count on two hands, but you won’t find me recommending every lip product on the planet. Because frankly, I do have my standards.  They must not be greasy, disappear in a few minutes or be filled to the brim (or at all) with any petrochem nasties, artificial color or flavor.

But this is not a balm or gloss, it’s a lip conditioner perfect when in need of a little (or a lot) on-the-go pampering!  When you’re in a suit or a cocktail dress, do you really want to be seen pulling out your ninety-nine cents tube of (hopefully not petroletum filled) lip balm? I didn’t think so.  Why?

Holistic Whole-face Nutrition

Raffaele Ruberto founded Mod.Skin Labs, LLC in 2006. Two years is not long ago, yet seemingly perfect timing for a rather new awareness of conventional personal care product hazards. After all, the certification journey of organic foods was a battle in itself. The debate over whether skin care formulations could hold shelf-life with organic and natural ingredients followed.
