Tune your television to the Today Show on NBC (check your local listings) tomorrow morning, Friday April 24th, for a bit on “green” beauty products by Kelly Magill of Positively Green Magazine. One of the products she will be featuring is Bubble & Bee’s Lemongrass Rosemary deodorant, relative of Pit Putty, which I raved on about back in January. All Bubble & Bee deodorants are made without propylene glycol, aluminum or parabens. They also work really well and smell terrific! So be sure to check out the segment and see what else Kelly has in store.

PETA’s latest ad, slated to be broadcast during NBC’s Superbowl, has been rejected for being too sexy. Who knew that eating veggies was sexy?

In celebration of NBC’s “Green Week”, NBC ran a couple of stories last week on the Nightly News about the politics and technology of “clean coal”. Unfortunately, there was more coverage of the latter than of the former.

It looks like Hillary Clinton has another “3 a.m.” political ad out. This time it’s about the economy.
I’m not sure what it is about these ads that have captured the nation’s imagination; John McCain has his own version of it, and, of course, it inspired scores of parodies on YouTube and among late-night talk show comedians.
Still, I wonder if the candidates will get around to making one of these ads about the environment.
It’d be really easy to do, actually. All you need is a ringing phone…and no one to answer it.
That’s because the environment has somehow become a non-issue during this campaign season. All three candidates have fairly progressive views when it comes to addressing climate change, and they all tout the benefits of weening ourselves off foreign oil, so we’ve basically been told by the media that there’s nothing more to discuss on the topic.
The only problem is that voters WANT to discuss it.

Actor Neil Flynn — who plays your favorite comic villain on a certain sitcom — lets us know that everyone in the world relies on nature for survival. And when he’s not practicing taxidermy, this bully shows us how climate change is affecting nature and people and… janitors!

If you tune into the evening news and catch a story on global warming, alternative fuels, or wetland conservation, chances are the reporter responsible for that segment isn't an environmental reporter. More than likely it is from the health or science correspondent, or from the general news reporter who was assigned the story.
While many mainstream media outlets are increasingly playing up the green angle in their stories, [...]
