Luella Bartley Designs Tops that Say: “Giving is Sexy and It’s Cool to Care” with Her New Holiday TONIC T-Shirts!

“TONIC TAPS FASHION DESIGNER LUELLA BARTLEY TO CREATE ~ LIMITED EDITION T-SHIRTS”

Bartley is a UK based fashion designer who we wrote about recently for her strategic partnerships with Environmental Justice and other caring designers.

Luella, has now created a new line of ethical threads for Tonic T-Shirts. Their creative organic t-shirts make for a great gift this holiday season:

“A for-profit company with a new business model, TONIC partners with secular non-profits working around the globe, who make huge differences in four key areas — the environment, education, poverty and social welfare. Each TONIC t-shirt collection is designed to aid in implementing philanthropic programs with measurable, impactful, global and relevant outcomes.”

Here are the four tees to benefit four causes (Shown above clockwise are the cute t-shirts and the charity) they’ve partnered up with:

1. The Robin Tee: “For students in Abricots, Haiti, shoes are one of the most expensive, yet most needed items. Sneakers are the preferred choice of assistance because many students walk miles through mountainous and rocky roads and trails to get to school every day.”

  • Each Robin Tee sold will provide a pair of sneakers to a student in Abricots, Haiti
  • Partner: Friends of Paradis des Indiens
  • Goal: 2,500 Tees = 2,500 pairs of sneakers

2. The Pagan Sun Tee: Coral reefs are one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on Earth and one of the essential life-support systems of the planet, that supply one-tenth of the fish for island and coastal people. “Funds must be raised to ensure the conservation of threatened and endangered coral reefs and their surrounding marine ecosystems around the world.

Vantage Verve: Going for a Super Green Shirt

This is a guest post by John Simonetta, owner of ProformaGreen, an eco-friendly promotional items consultancy. John’s blogs are designed to keep us up to date on the “greening” of his industry.

The Verve line of organic cotton promotional t-shirts from Vantage Apparel seems to be going for the title of most green t-shirt available.

Like many other organic shirts in the promotional items industry Vantage starts with a non-bleached t-shirt made from organic cotton (i.e. no pesticides or petroleum fertilizers used to grow the cotton). At this point the shirt is similar to other organic shirts, like the AnvilOrganic line from Anvil Knit Wear (which by the way does come in different colors than just “natural”).
