Wildlife conservationists are furious over a senior forest official’s apparent attempt to cover up a tiger poaching incident in the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary.
Suspicion is growing around the investigation of a Goa tiger poaching incident earlier this year which allegedly involved an employee of the home guard department - and now it appears a senior forest official is trying to cover it up.

A gigantic political scandal has rocked Peru in the past week. During the confusion and charges of corruption, the President’s cabinet has been forced to resign.

The scandal emerged last week when a Peruvian TV station played audio recordings it had obtained from an anonymous source. The conversations involved high ranking members of Peru’s government discussing bribes they would receive from the Norwegian Oil Company, Discover.

A major investigation of the Department of Interior has uncovered “a culture of ethical failure.” Over a dozen current and former employees are alleged to have violated policies including drug use, sexual relations between federal employees and oil company employees, rigging oil contracts, working part-time as oil consultants, and accepting gifts like golf and ski trips.
