I’ve always enjoyed the antics of Jesse James, the motorcycle mogul who owns the custom bike shop West Coast Customs. He was the star of Monster Garage, where him and a team of equally-eccentric characters were challanged with creating oddball rides, such as an ambulance that does wheelies. That is one trip to the hospital I wouldn’t mind. But he isn’t exactly what I would call an “enviromentally concious” person, especially after last week’s episode of Jesse James Is A Dead Man, where Mr. James was tearing across through housing projects and golf courses in a nitrous-injected Camaro.

But apparently the idea of breaking the land speed record for hydrogen cars has been on his mind for some time now. Last Wednesday, Jesse blew past the current record of 185 mph and set a new record of 199.7 mph

Compared to most other industrialized countries, the rail infrastructure system in the United States is only in its most stunted infancy.

President Obama’s stimulus package, however, is now going to help bring our nation’s transit system into the 21st century. Nine billion dollars has been allocated over the next five years to begin building a faster and cleaner high speed rail network that will not only provide many needed jobs, but will also give us more sustainable transit options and help to make us more competitive internationally.

Bentley will be using the upcoming Geneva show as a launchpad for a biofuel powered GT that Bentley’s PR reps promise will be the fastest and most powerful production car in the company’s history.

Details of the new Continental variant are limited, and the company has only released a single teaser image (above) while promising the moon and the stars above for it’s coming eco-missile. Without further details, we can only guess at the new Conti-green’s powertrain… sounds like fun!

Some educated guesses after the jump.

This should do it, a downhill racer where your legs are strapped to the rear gear and stopping is akin to riding a mobile Thighmaster, squeeze hard! Heavy padding is recommended, just in case.

The gif is the actual patent picture, all that’s needed is a manufacturer.

Small wonder then, that in many countries attempts to place restrictions around car usage are fiercely resisted.

The City of London has faced stern opposition over its new congestion charges (even being threatened with legal action from Porsche), the Germans refuse to bow to pressure from environmental groups to put speed limits on their unrestricted autobahns, speed cameras are branded as a universal menace and Detroit automakers have been vigorously opposed to a national fleet average fuel consumption figure of 35mpg.

The super environmentally conscious nation of Switzerland puts a healthy environment above the freedom of the highway. This week, motorists in the Italian thinking region of Switzerland may drive no faster than 80kmh to compensate for high levels of air pollution in the region.
