The U.S. Chamber of Commerce promotes itself as the “voice of business” by representing business ideas and interests in Washington. Really? If this is true, then why are so many businesses leaving the Chamber? So far, high profile utility companies such as
Exelon, Pacific Gas & Electric and PNM Resources have left the business association. Apple recently sent a letter to the Chamber’s CEO, Tom Donahue, resigning their membership effective immediately. A group of American companies has unveiled a plan to drastically cut carbon emissions. Now the companies want the Congress to work out an effective climate bill based on that plan to transform America into a low-carbon economy.
