More and more buzz is being generated in the music industry about artists greening up concerts and venues greening their practices. I was able to see some of this first hand while spending four days at the Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival in Lawrence, KS, this past weekend.
Lured by the temptation of such acts as Ben Harper

Always on the lookout for new green events, I’m excited to have found something that promises to be more than just networking (not that there’s anything wrong with that!) On Thursday, June 7th, the Los Angeles Net Impact chapter, in partnership with SustainLane, is hosting an event dedicated to sustainability.
The event features guest speaker Gillian Christie. As founder and CEO of Christie Communications, a communications and public relations firm, Christie works

My problem with The Lazy Environmentalist
, green radio host Josh Dorfman's self-proclaimed "guide to easy, stylish, green living" isn't that it lacks information. It's actually a quite comprehensive guide to supporting green companies. I dog-eared multiple pages so I could visit websites of the companies in which I was interested. But it's not so much a guide to green living as it's a guide to green

Don't ever pass up the opportunity to judge beer. Ok, I know you do that anyway, but I'm not talking about your personal opinion of Pabst Blue Ribbon. It turns out that real-life beer competitions require amateur beer judges to work alongside the pros. Apparently, amateurs provide useful feedback to brewmasters with their 'average Joe' opinions.
And that's where I come in.
May 19th was the 25th annual Heart of the Valley

Editor's note: Green Brews is a new biweekly series in which Green Options writer Clayton Bodie Cornell explores a passion unrelated to biofuels: organic beers and green nightlife. Enjoy!
Have you ever felt guilty after a night at the bar? Not the guilt associated with spending all your hard-earned cash on overpriced drinks, or wasting a day of your life nursing a hangover — that happens. What I'm asking is whether or not your

Well, if you’re reading this, you probably are.
LOHAS stands for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability. Representing an estimated 50 million American adults, the name LOHAS is now synonymous with the “Cultural Creatives” segment of the population originally identified in 1996 by sociologist, author, and market researcher Paul Ray, Ph.D. Ray, along with psychologist Sherry Ruth Anderson, described the segment in their 2000 book, The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People

Everyone's talking about the potential of green business to reshape the planet, but what does "green" really mean in the business world? If you've talked with any green entrepreneurs lately, or are one yourself, you know that vision and passion are in abundance. The question is how does a green start-up turn personal commitment into sustainable profit?
To find out the answers to these and other key questions, listen in when Linda Feinholz

Let’s face it: networking is hard. Striking up conversations with total strangers can be uncomfortable. But, if you’ve ever been to an industry-specific networking event, then you know that it always helps to have something in common with the other folks in the room.
That’s why the monthly Green Business Networking event in Santa Monica is such a great place for the shy among us to break out of our shells and meet like-minded

Grabbing a cold one may soon do more than just quench your thirst. It also might help power your entire home. Ah, the power of beer.
Fosters Brewery in Australia announced yesterday that they are entering into a partnership with the University of Queensland to develop a microbial fuel cell powered entirely by beer waste. The process will 'digest' the beer and convert it into clean water and electricity generating 2 kw of power —

Hello from Chicago! GreenFest is over, and the Green Options team finally has a chance to relax after a hectic and amazing weekend. Our primary promotion, in which we worked with Renewable Choice Energy to offset GreenFest-goers' carbon emissions to and from the Festival, will result in 73,900 lbs. of total offsets. We haven't heard final numbers for the weekend yet, but rumor has it that over 35,000 people attended Saturday's festivities alone.
To celebrate a smooth
